My Journey

Hi there! I’m a self-taught potter who began this journey in 2021. Pottery had always been an itch I needed to scratch — after a few failed attempts to join classes, I decided to buy a wheel and some stoneware clay and teach myself how to throw. In the worst-case scenario, I thought I could sell the wheel if it didn’t work out. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case. What started as curiosity quickly became an obsession, and HLW Ceramics (short for Hayley Louise Warwick) was born.

Although I originally studied Fine Art at Winchester School of Art, where my discipline was printmaking, it’s in pottery that I’ve truly found my creative voice. It now consumes my every waking thought — from the quiet rhythm of throwing on the wheel to the anticipation of each kiln opening. I’m excited to see where this journey continues to lead me.
